Made in the Okanagan Label

Made in the Okanagan supports the one hundred mile economy with a "Buy Local" labeling program and serves as a business and community development incubator. We work to implement environmentally sustainable economic solutions that emphasize better prosperity for local manufacturers and food producers.

Based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Made in the Okanagan works to develop business and community strategies that will enhance our region's role nationally and internationally within the fields of quality handmade art and fine craft and locally grown safe foods.

The mission of the Okanagan Institute

is to contribute to

the quality of creative engagement in the Okanagan through publications and events.

The Made in the Okanagan Label is a regional product identification label so that consumer awareness for local products increases resulting in greater sales for local producers. A regional product label is a key instrument for identifying locally produced products within a Community Driven Marketing Strategy. Logos have impact and remain a shortcut to an image and carries with it tourism promotion for the Okanagan region.

The label helps us build a community of local producers whether they are growing food, making pottery, writing songs or producing computer software. The Made in the Okanagan Label is set to be launched in 2010, if you would like to learn more about the label campaign, please contact us.
